The Emerson Guide:

What To Wear: Dress Code
Dress to impress, with a dash of smart casual and a flavour of your own. At The Emerson we know there’s more to a person than the clothes they’re wearing. However, there are few things to keep in mind: collared shirts are preferred. Thongs, trainers, canvas shoes, ripped denim or beachwear are not so preferred. At the end of the day, management reserves the right to refuse entry if our dress code is not adhered to, or your attire or attitude is deemed inappropriate. Waldo says.

Emerson FAQs

What ID do I need to enter The Emerson?
A valid ID looks like your passport or an Australian driver’s license. This is a legal thing, not a Waldo thing. Don’t shoot the messenger.
What music do you play?
Depends when you arrive and where you settle. Fridays The Rooftop – RnB from 7pm. You’re welcome. Saturdays The Rooftop – A taste of soul vibes leading you into sunset, followed by commercial and vocal house once local and international DJs take over from 7pm. The Club – Naturally, club. Featuring vocal, chart toppers and classics to keep you going into the early hours of the morning, just the way we like it. Sundays The Rooftop – Your chance to chill out and smooth over any weekend rough spots, as we play you RnB followed by 90s and early 00s, and lead you into uplifting house.
Do you have a cloak room?
Our cloakroom is available for all ladies and gentlemen at $5 for the evening. If you show up wearing an actual cloak, Waldo will waive the fee.
Is there disabled access?
Yes. We also offer a lift to take you directly to the rooftop. Simply let our staff know and they’ll be happy to oblige.
Do you serve food?
Yes, on our Rooftop we offer a full a la carte menu until 9pm, from Friday to Sunday. We also offer flexible, tailored dining options for functions.
Can I bring children?
Children are allowed at The Emerson before 6pm. After that, our license does not permit children on our premises. Please make sure they’re safe and supervised. If left unsupervised children will be given a shot of sugar syrup and sent to the dance floor.
Can I bring pets?
As much as we love Felix, Socks and Lucky, unfortunately they are not permitted in our venue due to licensing regulations. Instead, you can just tell them all about your night when you get home.

Yes, of course. Just let the team know that you’re bringing one. We’ll keep it safe, and take care of plates and cutlery. We’re also really good at taste testing if you need help.
