Ron Carroll and Joey Negro perform at The Emerson Australia Day Long Weekend

MELBOURNE, Tuesday 8th January

Waldo and Musical Chairs are  pleased to announce house music legends Joey Negro and Ron Carroll performing Friday 25th January 2019 at The Emerson Rooftop and Club, exclusively in Melbourne over Australia Day Weekend.

Ron Carroll – Chicago’s house music legend. Singer, songwriter and producer Carroll has worked with the best including E-Smoove, Maurice Joshua and Bob Sinclar. Ron has also performed across the world but has a special connection to Melbourne having played the biggest festivals, events and clubs over 15 years to sold out dancefloors. Ron will take you on a journey of house music. Carroll is a musician that never stops, and with the golden touch of his unique creativity and hugely inspiring passion, this is a special event for Melbourne’s house music scene.

Ron will be joined by special guest Joey Negro, one of the biggest house acts of the last 20 years:

Joey Negro is the most well-known pseudonym of master British DJ/producer/remixer Dave Lee. Under a plethora of other monikers including Jakatta, Akabu, Doug Willis, Raven Maize, The Sunburst Band, Sessomatto, and Z Factor, Dave was one of the first artists to incorporate disco samples in house music when he began his production career in 1988. Indeed, he was in the studio making credible and outstanding British House music when many luminaries around him were still busy getting to grips with their decks. Little has changed since then and Dave is still widely regarded as one of the most commercially successful and in-demand artists on the global scene.

A producer first and foremost, his work ethic is legendary, having been involved in well over 200 productions, countless albums and a healthy stack of hit singles with tracks such as ‘Must Be The Music’, ‘Make A Move On Me’, ‘Can’t Get High Without You’ and Jakatta’s ‘American Dream’ and ‘My Vision’.

They are both supported by alongside Arlen De Silva, Anyo James Belias, Chris NG, Andy Murphy, Jesus Loyola and Paulo. The entire Emerson venue  will be open for this event.
